Next of Kin memorial plaque awarded to next of kin of those who lost their lives whilst on active service during the First World War. Shows relief standing figure of Britannia, holding a trident and laurel wreath, surrounded by dolphins, a lion in front. Inscribed: HE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOUR around the image, with oblong panel below the wreath, where the name of the individual is recorded, BERNARD MORRIS is cast.
Sent to parents (William and Hannah Morris of Handel House, Newbridge) of Petty Officer Bernard Morris, killed in action on 23 April 1917, aged 22, while serving in the Drake Battalion RND. He is commemorated on the Newbridge War Memorial. Sent in square folded package.
