Born: 1745, Martley, Worcs. Died: 1812, Upper John Street. At first etcher end line engraver, later aquatint engraver, chiefly of topography and marine subjects. Some works executed with Robert Pollard and Valentine Green. Business connections with Switzerland severed by French Revolution. Sources: DNB; Thieme and Becker; Maxted (1977).
