Jug, earthenware, rounded slightly spreading foot-rim, bulbous body sloping inwards at the shoulder to a cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, square-shouldered angular handle; covered all over with a bright yellow glaze, then then decorated with to either side of the body two different transfer-printed scenes in black, one showing a rural landscape with a tower, mountains and trees, the other showing a coastal scene with cattle in the foreground, masts of ships beyond and a village in the background, the exterior neck decorated with a red-brown band issuing a black loop and dot pattern with stylized black leaves, red-brown bands around the shoulder, lip-rim and spout, red-brown anthemions to the handle.
