Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A moderately preserved remains of an individual inhumantion burial from the Roman era, around 75% complete.
The person was a young adult female of 17-29 years. She was 155.62 cm tall, which is slightly shorter than the national average.
She was interred in a single burial with evidence of a coffin. She was interred in an extended prone position with her hands beneath her pelvis and her body was aligned in a south-north orientation.
Her right femur was radiocarbon dated as 241 - 412 cal AD (SUERC-97815 (GU57344))
Her cranium exhibited hypotrochanteric fossa, which is a depression generally caused by mechanical stress through physical activity. Her teeth showed calculus and an impacted 3rd molar.
