Square clamp with two long bolts held at diagonally opposite corners. Cast shapes are threaded over the bolts, which are prevented from coming off by square nuts. The clamp is the right size to fit around the axle that drives the grinding mill and the bolts are the right distance apart to fit through the holes in the top of the mill rotor (central rotating grinding surface). These two facts suggest that this part was used for adjusting the height of the rotor and hence the distance between the two grinding surfaces. [RP; 25/09/2007]
