Skirt in tapestry patterns made at Welsh Textiles Ltd, Pyle, near Porthcawl, circa early 1970s. Matches tabard DF2023.3/1
Knee-length pencil skirt made from cream and brown tapestry woven wool fabric. Made from two pieces of fabric seamed together at the sides. Two waist darts on front and 4 waist darts on back. 20cm long black metal zip at left side; inner waistband of black synthetic ribbon fastened with white metal clasp. Skirt is lined with black synthetic fabric which is left loose along the lower hem. Manufacturer's labels attached to inner waist. Black cotton tape hanging loops at either side of inner waist. All machine stitched using brown thread and seam allowances secured with overlocking stitches using white synthetic thread.
