The design in the centre of the plate features St Teilo’s church together with a bridge, blacksmith’s tongs and a miner’s lamp and a date - 1986, all shown against a blue background and with green (grass) in front of the church. Around the rim are the words Pontarddulais Community Council – Cyngor Cymuned Pontarddulais with a decorative pattern, made up of daffodils, between the English and Welsh texts – all in green.
