Bronze lid? The object comprises a short cylinder of sheet bronze with one end closed. Through the centre of the round flat end passes a split pin staple with its ends bent back on the inside. Through the loop of the staple passes another piece of wire, perhaps part of a chain. The edges of the cylinder taper inwards and, although there is some damage, sufficient of the original outer edge remains to show their full extent.
