Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Linen beadspred embroidered by Theodosia Henry (1708-86), daughter of the Rev. Matthew Henry of Nant Gwynant. Probably made in about 1724-26.
Embroidered with coloured wools in satin, chain, stem, spattling and couched stitches. In the centre is an oval panel containing fruit trees with tulips growing beneath. The panel is surrounded wtih designs of vines with grapes, oak and other trees, carnations and roses. Floral border on three sides. The fourth side is made up of a patchwork of vine patterns, carnations and other flowers. The bedspread is made up of at least two separate embroideries.
