Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Chair awarded at the Tregaron local eisteddfod, 1876, awarded with £10 to Ioan Gwent (John Watkins), Gilfach Goch. The eisteddfod was held in a large pavilion in the town of Tregaron and attended by the MP David Davies, Llandinam. The chair of oak is a simple design and similar examples would have been seen in homes and chapels of the period. It was probably made by a local carpenter and features a panel at the back noting the date and location of the event.
