Bisque costume doll
Bisque head with fixed glass eyes (brown), open mouth and (blonde) hair worn in two plaits tied with (lime green) ribbon. Composition body and limbs with wooden parts, jointed at knee and elbow. Wearing a long-sleeved coarse, natural cotton dress with bands of (red) at yoke, sleeves and hem, embroidered with (green) feather stitch and (yellow). an overskirt open in front of (navy blue/white) striped cotton inside a deep baud of (red with yellow) trim which also ties in front; string bosud, (white) cotton 'puttees' on legs and (brown) leather mocassins. The hat--mitre shaped with (red/gold) braid, (yellow) bauds and a (yellow) bow on the oblong flat back. Nice quality costume doll, probably Russian.
