Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Standing fruit stand or centrepiece, the detachable basket with interlaced wire sides and pierced vine leaf border, the rim chased with scrolls, shells and formal leafage, supported by three draped classical female figures holding wands crossed saltire-wise and capped with cones and berried ivy leaves, each figure standing at an angle of the triform plinth engraved on each face with identical contemporary armorials with shells in between, on three dolphin feet with pendant fruit and floral festoons, the base, conforming in outline, with a foliate boss in the centre to match the plinth, guilloche border, on shell feet. Engraved with the arms of Hall impaling Crawshay and the motto 'Turpiter Desperatur' for Benjamin Hall (1778-1817) and Charlotte Crawshay
