Tall hat, tapering crown; black plush beaver silk, with elaborate silk chenille hat band; stamp inside crown: Dieu et mon droit with Prince of Wales feathers; striped silk inner band with plain open weave stiffener; holland lining to crown. Formerly displayed in costume section of Byegones Gallery, National Museum, Cathays Park, c 1928-1948. Good quality.
