Boards, wooden on face of benches 5 and 6 / 45.5" x 20", varying from 0.5" to 0.75" deep. [Accession file description]
Three boards, originally part of something else before being used in the tin smiths workshop. All three boards are painted green with red undercoat showing through in places. The largest board is painted on both sides and the paint on one side is faded and flaking. The next largest board is only painted on one side. A batten of relatively clean new wood is nailed to one end, so that it extends 250mm from the edge of the board . A notch has been cut out of one corner and a knot hole has been filled with newspaper and painted over with the green paint. The smallest board is again only painted on one side but approximately half of the painted surface is faded and flaking as if the other half had been protected from 'weathering'. [RP; 02/12/2008]
