Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Visit by Barbara Castle, Transport Minister, to Newport Docks. Mrs Castle is listening to a narrative from Mr John Meyer CBE, chairman and managing director of Montague L Meyer Ltd since 1961, and also managing director of MBM (Montague-Bloedel-Meyer) Ltd., thus controlling the largest share of the UK's timber imports. He was awarded the CBE in 1967 for Anglo-Soviet trade as president of the Russo-British Chamber of Trade since 1962.
