Post-Medieval pottery dish

Rim sherd from trailed and combed slip decorated dish, a dark and light slip has been trailed over the surface and combed. A glaze has been applied over the internal surface upto the rim. The vessel has been press moulded and the rim decorated as a pie crust.

Site Name: Cardiff, South Wales

Notes: This represents a collection of old finds presented to NMGW by the Marquess of Bute in 1964. They purport to come from Cardiff Castle and the religious houses of Blackfriars and Greyfriars.
