Madfabulous stars Welsh actor Callum Scott Howells as Henry Paget, the 5th Marquis of Anglesey (1875-1905). Henry Paget was known for his lavish lifestyle, and enjoyed cross-dressing and jewels. He converted the chapel at Plas Newydd into a theatre and was known as the ‘Dancing Marquess’ for his butterfly dances. Whilst there is no evidence to suggest he was queer (family papers were destroyed), he is generally included in books on queer historical figures.
