Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Flat oval plate with a convex back. At both ends oval-sectioned shanks project, narrowing to strips. The surviving shank is pierced by a circular hole which retains traces of an iron rivet. The face of the handle is inlaid with dark blue champleve enamel. The design is no longer clear but appears to consist of a border following the line of the plate with a leaf shape at each end and a swirling Celtic motif in the centre. Condition: one shank largely missing, most of the enamel gone.
