Toby jug

Toby jug, earthenware, modelled in the form of a standing corpulent male figure wearing a tricorn hat, coat, waistcoat, knee breeches, stockings and buckled shoes, the figure holding a small foaming jug in his right hand and a long-stemmed pipe in his left, the hat forms the mouth of the jug, the figure standing on a moulded base and supprted behind by a moulded tree stump which tapers at the top into a loop handle modelled in the form of a branch and twisted back down the tree stump; the figure painted with realistic face, black hat, brown coat, pink waistcoat, yellow breeches and black shoes, the small jug held by the figure painted with the inscription "SUCCESS / TO OUR / WOODEN WALLS" in black and enclosed by a heart-shaped border, the moulded base, tree stump and handle painted in browns and greens.
