Cog wheel on vertical axle; part of oak bark grinding mill.
An iron shaft with a square section for most of its length and short lengths of circular section at both ends. One end of the shaft is domed, this sits in the bearing on 36.152.21, and the other end is flat. There is a cog wedged in position 930mm from the domed end. There are raised ridges on the corners of the shaft towards the domed end. The cog has broken in use and a new tooth has been bolted into place. [RP; 15/10/2007]
