S.S. SHREWSBURY (4542 gt). Built 1924 by Richardson, Duck as S.S SOUTHBOROUGH for Hazelwood Shipping Co., Cardiff. 1933 - Purchased from Hazelwood by the Alexander Shipping Co. (Capper, Alexander & Co.), Cardiff, and was renamed SHREWSBURY in 1935. 1941 - Shelled and sunk in the Atlantic by German cruiser ADMIRAL HIPPER.
