Pennant
Pennant commemorating the 6th anniversary of the 1979 revolution in Nicaragua. Printed in black and red. Three raised fists holding a spanner, a rifle and a hammer against a background of half a gear, above the insciption CST ANIVERSARIO.
Shield-shaped pennant made of yellow tabby woven cotton, edge bound with bias-cut red cotton, stitched with red thread. Double turn-back along top, stitched with yellow thread. Two pens inserted along resulting sleeve: a hollow black 'BIC' pen (missing the ink cartridge and lid - i.e. merely the hexagonal clear plastic barrel) as well as a blue plastic fine felt tip pen (clip on lid is embossed with 'OFREX NOVATIP). The pens are used to stiffen/strengthen the top edge. In addition, a white cotton S-twist rope has been inserted through the channel for hanging. The ends of the rope are knotted around a screw eye.
