Built 1938 by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd., Newcastle (with 4-cylinder diesel engine by the builder), for Hopemount Shipping Co Ltd., managed by Stott, Mann & Fleming Ltd., Newcastle. 1952 - Sold to Bugsier Reederei & Bergungs, Hamburg, and renamed EILENAU. 1960 - Sold to W. Schuchmann, Bremen, and renamed WEISSESEE. 1962 - Sold to Cia Nav. Somelga, Beirut (C.Lemos & C.Pateras & Sons, Chios), and renamed KAPTANPANTELIS. She ran aground and became wrecked off Fialdu Island in the Maldives on 4 June 1963, while on a voyage from Calcutta for Rijeka.
