Drinks party for Cardiff dockworkers, thrown by timber importers Northwood Mills of Canada Ltd and Galbraith, Hill & Co. (Shipbrokers) as a thank you gesture to port workers and employees of Fletcher's Wharves Ltd for their prowess in handling more than 180,000 tons of timber during 1971. The party was held at the Cardiff Athletic Club. A similar party was given by the Outspan organisation at the same venue for 280 port workers for handling more than three million cases of citrus fruit during the 1971 season.
