These are the disarticulared cranium of a young adult (17-25 years). Who was probably male.
The burial is from Phase H: 772-1019 AD.
His cranium was affected by cribra orbitalia, which is an area of porus bone in the cranium where the diploe has swelled. This can be caused by a wide variety of traumas, deficiencies and illnesses and are considered an indicator or overall health and general stress. Cribra orbitalia are present in just 7% of the Five Mile Lane individuals.
The burial is associated with SK44, SK46 and SK47.
