Roman copper alloy furniture fitting, Medusa mask
Silvered copper-alloy Medusa mask, probably a fitting from furniture. Described in Antiquity (1928) vol.78 as "curved plaque (probably from a metal vessel) in the form of a bronze face in low relief on an ornamented background of lead."
