Roman copper alloy mount
Solid attachment with part of a copper alloy shank soldered to one side of the back. It is in the form of a bust of Minerva, wearing a stylized aegis, and a heavily crested Corinthian helmet with a human mask, eyes and nose on the peak. The head, with waved hair, is finished all round. Possibly adorned either an article of furniture or decorated a lock escutcheon.
