Early Medieval pottery amphora
Sherd with shallow ribs or imbrications in a buff fabric with copious sand grains, both white and dark. Ornament and fabric are both characteristic of Class Bii, and parallels are common at Garranes and Bantham.

Notes: Section 10; Cut VI, Layer (3); Context C/D C: Black, usually greasy soil, with small angular rubble; much bone, charcoal flecking; rich in finds. D: Large, often slabby stones, with smaller stones interspersed; dark humus-soil; relatively few bones or finds. Excavation conducted in the promontory fort and the adjoining hill-slope enclosure.
