Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Jug, earthenware, standing on a spreading foot with gadroon moulded foot rim, ovoid body of six bulging panels with anthemion moulding at shoulder, straight sided neck, ending in a five lobed rim, moulded with anthemions, the sixth lobe extending to form a wide spout; high looped socketed handle with prominent thumb spur in three lobed leaf form, extending above the rim, the upper handle with ribbed effect; transfer printed, in black, with vignettes known as 'Chinese Views', consisting of Chinoiserie style scenes of figures and buildings; heart and loop pattern to neck and interior lip rim, flowers and scrolling foliage to handle.
