Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A sherd of plain pale blue posssible Roman era window glass. The shape of the fragment is nearly semi-circular, the outer edges are pitted and chipped in such a way as there are no sharp edges. This may indicate deliberate knapping/pressure flaking to remove sharp edges and recycle the fragment into a counter or gaming piece.
The example is similar to examples of sub-circular counters taken from fragments of blue/green prismatic bottles found in Cool & Price in Woodward, Davies and Graham, 1993, fig.88 nos. 174-175.
