Bright, Sarah (Embroiderer)

Fine woollen ground embroidered with coloured silks in cross and satin stitch. Border around three sides of wavy stem with floral motifs on either side. Row of motifs at top: flowering plant flanked by two winged angels, lions torches and birds. Below: rectangular compartment outlined with saw-tooth lines containing five stanza verse with unfinished maker's inscripton and row of motifs along the bottom: three flowering plants in pots with two birds.
