SIMON BENSON (7100gt) : Built 1943 by Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation, Portland, Oregon (engine by Iron Fireman Manufacturing Co., Portland, Oregon), for US War Shipping Administration, managed by Sudden & Christensen Inc., San Francisco. 1949 – Sold to Seven Seas Steamship Corp. (US flag), managed by Blidberg & Rothchild Co., New York. (then by Orion Shipping & Trading Co, New York, from 1952). 1953 – Renamed SEAMERIT (same owners), managed by Orion Shipping & Trading Co. 1954 – Sold to Siete Mares Soc. Mar., Panama (Liberian flag), and renamed AGIA TRIADA (same managers). 1956 – Renamed ANDROS TRIDENT (under the same owners and managers). Ownership was transferred to Transmarine Navigation Inc., in 1957, and management was taken over by Maritime Overseas Corp., New York, in 1960. Still under the Liberian flag. 1963 – Sold to Caroline Navigation Inc., and renamed SAN BENITO, managed by Ceres Shipping Co., London (Liberian flag). She was broken up at Hirao, Japan in 1969.
