Bute East Dock, Cardiff, negative
No.11 bonded warehouse at Bute East Dock, Cardiff. Built 1861 to the designs of engineer W.S. Clark which was based around an internal framework of iron beams supported by round cast iron columns. The building follows strict classical Greek Temple lines, and was exactly twice the width of its depth. Designated 'A' shed under the Great Western Railway, it was still used as a general bonded warehouse for export wines, spirits, tobacco etc. when this picture was taken.
