Identification tag

Brown handwritten luggage tag for fabric patches 'THESE IRON ON PATCHES WERE MADE BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS AT A PATCH MAKING WORKSHOP AT AUBERGINE CAFE. IT WAS SUCH A FUN EVENING WHERE MOST OF THE ATTENDIES WERE BOTH QUEER AND AUTISTIC OR NUERODIVERGENT (AUBERGINE IS AUTISTIC OWNED AND RUN). WE LET THEM GO THROUGH MY FABRIC SAMPLE AND OFFCUT STASH AS WELL AS GO AT THE PATCHES WITH MARKERS AND PAINT. PEOPLE KEPT ASKING ME FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND I WASN'T GREAT AT GIVING STEP BY STEP IDEAS. [End of front of tag, text continues on the back] I TRIED TO JUST EXPLORE WHY WE LIKE/WANT PATCHES, WHAT DO THE COMMUNICATE WITHOUT US HAVING TO SAY ANYTHING OUT LOUD. LOTS OF PEOPLE MADE PRIDE FLAGS, PUT LYRICS ON THEM, SYMBOLS FROM FANDOMS I'D NEVER EVEN HEARD OF. AT THE END TWO PARTICIPANTS DONATED THESE TWO PATCHES TO US TO SELL WITH THE EMBROYDERED ONES AT OUR NEXT FUNDRAISING EVENTS mot/ctdov/002.3 21CM/15CM'

Collected as part of the Museum of Transology National Day of Collecting in collaboration with Trans Pride UK on 27 April 2024. The event was held in partnership with Amgueddfa Cymru at St Fagans National Museum of History. Donated to Amgueddfa Cymru by the Museum of Transology in 2026.
