Cup and saucer

Cup, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded sides, scrolled loop handle; the exterior body covered with a deep underglaze blue ground against which is reserved to the front of the body an oval panel left white and finely painted in polychrome enamels with two exotic birds in a landscape, the panel enclosed by a gilt rococo border, a gilt line around the foot-rim, a gilt dentil edge to the lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. Saucer, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, curving sides; the interior of the saucer covered with a deep underglaze blue ground against which is reserved to the centre of the well a round panel left white and finely painted in polychrome enamels with an exotic bird in a landscape, the panel enclosed by a gilt rococo border, a gilt dentil edge to the rim.
