Obverse. The king seated on a decoratively pillared throne with rayed rounded arch, wearing a large arched crown and full mantle with ermine cape, his right hand holds a cross-topped sceptre, his left an orb resting on his knee and bearing a large cross flory (Wyon). Festoons of flowers from top to sides of the throne where they are caught by winged cherubs standing on vases, one on either side. Under the monarch’s feet, a large double rose is supported by small cherubs, one on either side.
