Welsh costume hat
From Abergwili, Carmarthenshire. part of whole costume. Tall hat, covered with black beaver silk, sound on brim, worn at edge; crown badly dented. Crown lined with paper and glazed cotton, with stamp in top: CHRISTYS LONDON. Inner lining band of machine quilted silk/cotton. Worn condition. Hat band of cut and uncut velvet ribbon on a brown silk ground (same as F77.112)
