Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
This is probably a human lower lateral incisor from the permanent or second dentition and probably from the right side of the mouth. It is heavily worn on the biting surface, probably because of loss of the back teeth at an earlier age throwing load onto this tooth. Wear indicates an older age group (45 years +). The root canal (nerve) has been exposed and this would have resulted in infection of the pulp, abscess formation and probably loss due to erosion of the supporting bone.
