Oval-shaped lap stone. Used by cobbler for hardening leather for making the soles and heels of shoes. The stone was used by Robert Roberts and Llewellyn Jones from about 1890 onwards. It was last used between 1928 and 1936 by the donor, a cobbler in Trawsfynydd between 1928 and 1973. It seems likely that the stone is from the River Prysor.
