Ss DIAMANTIS (5030gt) : Built 1919 as an A-class standard cargo ship, ss WAR ALYSSUM, by J. Caird & Co., Greenock, for the Shipping Controller of the British government. 1919 – Sold to African Steamship Co. (Elder, Dempster Lines), Liverpool and renamed BATHURST. 1933 – Sold to B.E. Benierakis, Chalkis, and renamed KOSTIS. 1939 – Sold to P.D. Pateras of Patras, and renamed DIAMANTIS. 1950 – Sold to Lemos & Ponticos of Chios, and renamed THARROS. She ran aground near Honningsvaag, on 29 November 1951. She was refloated but sank during bad weather on 11 December 1951.
