Plate, warming
Pollard, William (1803 - 1854)
Warming plate, earthenware, bowl-shaped lower section with rounded foot ring, curved sides and two horizontal squared handles of which one encloses a pouring lip, the bowl supporting a plate with 8-notched rim; the upper surface enamelled with a central spray of pink and white briar roses surrounded by sprigs of strawberries, speedwell and red campion, an elaborate gilded border picked out in green enamel, plain gilded lines on the handles and round the foot.
