Plate, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded tapering foot-rim, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, the rim lobed; painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well the figures of a boy and a girl standing on a patch of ground against a sky with clouds, the scene enclosed within a circular cartouche of stylized gilt foliate motifs, the rim painted in greens and browns with a continuous landscape of rugged rocks, ruined towers and trees with distant hills, a gilt band around the edge of the well, a gilt dentil border to the rim.
