Gilt head of processional cross with crucifix and roundels with the emblems of the evangelists at the end of each arm of the cross (one missing) and sockets to receive figurines of St. Mary and St. John (both now missing). The tang whereby the cross head was fixed on to a wooden staff has been removed. The roundels contain symbols of the Evangelists: a man for St. Matthew (the one now missing); a lion for St. Mark; an ox for St. Luke; and an eagle for St. John.
This processional cross was made in sections and then assembled. Christ and other figures were cast first and then riveted into place. 1400s.
