STANWELL (10297gt) : T2-SE-A1 type tanker built 1945 as FORT CHESWELL by Prince Rupert Dry Dock & Shipyard, Prince Rupert, B.C., for the US War Shipping Administration. 1947 – Sold to Stanhope Steamship Co Ltd., London (J Billmier & Co), and renamed STANWELL. 1959 – Sold to Sjofart A/S, Lillesland, Norway, and renamed LANDBREEZE. 1960 – Sold to Panargy Shipping Corp., Monrovia, and renamed PANARGY I. 1961 – Transferred to Maryland (International) SA, Monrovia. 1963 – Renamed SIROD (same owner). 1965 – Sold to Cia Naviera Capitrano SA, Monrovia, and renamed CAPISTRANO. She was broken up at Kaohsiung in 1967. (mariners-list / fortships)
