Three conjoining bowl sherds of orange-brown fabric, orange slip inside and out. Caerleon ware, probably imitating samian form 18/31. It is worth noting that although these sherds conjoin one of the sherds has burnt after breaking. Good example for teaching purposes.
Dr 18/31 is a transitional form between a plate and a bowl
Site Name: Southern Defences, Caerleon
Notes: From excavations directed for the Department of the Environment by Howard Mason of Cardiff University.
