Jug, bone china, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, plain loop handle with a raised thumb-spur; decorated with to the exterior body two oblong and one circular bat-printed panels in brown, the oblong panels show scenes of two children playing with a butterfly against a rural landscape, the circular panel shows a scene of a kneeling male figure kissing the hand of a seated female figure while a winged cupid hovers nearby, all the panels enclosed by a solid gilt band surrounded by gilt patterned borders, a gilt band around the lower body, a running foliate pattern in gilt around the exterior neck and spout, a gilt edge to the lip-rim and spout, a gilt foliate pattern to the handle.
