SPRINGWAVE (8197gt) : Built 1931 as COWRIE (2) by Cantieri Riunti del Adriatico, Montefalcone, Italy, for Anglo-Saxon Oil Co Ltd., London (later Shell Tankers Ltd.). 1948 – Sold to Springwell Shipping Co., London, and renamed SPRINGWAVE. 1951 – Sold to Cia. Maritima Sicula SpA, and renamed ASPRA. 1956 – Sold to Frifransicula, Italy, and renamed FRANSESCU. She was broken up at La Spezia in 1960. (Helder Line site) (wikipedia)
