Anstice, Horton and Rose
Pardoe, Thomas (1770-1823)

Oval cream jug, greyish blue hard-paste porcelain with a slight brownish translucency, standing on a shallow foot, the sides swelling to the shoulders, projecting spout turning down, ear-shaped scroll handle; the exterior decorated with an underglaze blue ground, reserved with red and yellow peonies amid scrolling realistically painted foliage, edged with gilding and with gilt sprays; the handle is covered with worn gilding, plain gilt band at lip and foot
