Pen tray

Pen tray, soft-paste frit porcelain; white very translucent body with lustrous glaze; oval boat-shaped with flat unglazed base and spreading sides, lotus-scroll loop handle containing a paterai and rising above the rim at each end, the exterior painted with three sprays each of three pink roses on each side, and the interior with a similar spray flanked by a rosebud on the flat base, and with three bands of seven pink roses on a stippled gilt ground in elaborate linked gilt cartouches on the sides.
