Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
This date stone was dumped in a disused well in the Roman period along with a variety of other materials. This single stone was found with a few other exotic plants: dill, coriander, grape vine and fig, demonstrating that these foods were available in Roman Britain. Some species were introduced and grown here, and others were imported.
